  • Library earns employee of the quarter honors

    Amanda Goshey’s customer service made her a shoo-in for the Burleson’s second Employee of the Quarter award. The award encompassed nominations from parks, recreation, golf, and the library. Goshey is a reference public services librarian at the Burleson Public Library.

    Johnson County got a new sheriff Thursday, for the day at least. Sheriff Bob Alford officially swore in Luke Lange, 9, as sheriff for a day. Lange’s father, Ben Lange, purchased the day for his son during a VIP auction held by the Chisholm Trail 100 Club in April.

  • Outcry to deputy leads to Burleson man’s arrest

    An recent outcry from a 15-year-old girl concerning events from three years ago led to the arrest of a Burleson resident on Friday. In an unrelated incident, Cleburne police, on Sunday, arrested a Cleburne man who allegedly forced his girlfriend to have sex against her will.
