ABILENE — Midland High (9-2) knocked North Crowley (9-2) from the playoffs, 28-3, at Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium.
Midland dominated the game, jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and were never threatened.

Midland’s Baron Batch gained 181 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns.
Batch had 97 yards and two touchdowns after the first quarter.
North Crowley had a chance in the second half to get back into the game as the Panther’s moved the ball into Midland’s end of the field on four drives. However, they were never able to punch the ball into the end zone.
Jeff Panfil had a season-high 47 pass attempts, completing 18 of them for 166 yards. Panfil was rushed all night by the Midland defense, getting sacked six times and hit on several other occasions.
Midland held North Crowley to a season-low 38 yards rushing.
The season ended on a positive for North Crowley as Adi Kunalic hit a 57-yard field goal with no time on the clock to set a school record for the Panthers only score of the night.
Kunalic was 3-for-3 on the season when kicking field goals of more than 50 yards.
