Burleson Police are searching for a man who robbed Southwest Bank Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at 9:56 a.m. in the 500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The bag and an undetermined amount of money have been recovered.
The suspect was described by bank witnesses as a black male in his early 50s, 6-feet-4-inches tall, thin build, with a salt and pepper beard and mustache. He was wearing a green windbreaker with white stripes on the sleeves, a camouflage ball cap and aviator-style sunglasses. He was carrying a black bag.
The suspect did not display a weapon. He did present the teller with a note. The suspect left Southwest Bank on foot.
Less than 25 minutes after the call from the alarm company, a bag was found behind a TV repair business in the 500 block of Johnson Avenue.
An Air Soft pistol that had red dye on it was found in a grassy area behind Bodacious Barbeque, also in the 500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Wilshire and Johnson run parallel to each other.
Officers and detectives were canvassing the neighborhood around Kerr Middle School, which is in the 500 block of Johnson Avenue. Agents from the FBI responded to assist Burleson detectives with the investigation.
The bank re-opened for business before 11:30 a.m. Police are still searching for the suspect.
